Can an online business be profitable? I think so. Have you ever thought about working at home, or wanted to try an online adventure hoping to make extra money? Most of us have.

Starting an online business can be profitable but unless you are an internet guru, I recommend you seek training. There are many things to learn about marketing, many people try and many fail. But the ones that don't give up succeed. This does not happen overnight and as with all business endeavors; you have to spend money to make money.

I recommend you follow these steps if you are serious about making money with an online business:

(1) Find a Company that can provide you with training online, via telephone, etc. If they do not provide you with a mentor and a support staff, find another company. DO YOUR RESEARCH, your business relies on it!

(2) Invest the time and money. Although it may take some time, a few months to begin to see activity on your website, a good team behind you will be worth it.

(3) Begin building your website. Again, a good marketing team will provide you with all the resources you need.

(4) Find your product niche. This will take a lot of research. There are many ideal products out there that people are really interested in. Find something you are interested in and know something about and go with it. Of course, you need to check the demand for that product and the competition level as well. Make sure you can make a profit off of the item you pick.

See what I mean? Many people search the internet daily. The web is increasing every minute. An estimated $38 million dollars were spent online in 2009. On average 8 out of 10 people shop online.

Take Wal-Mart for an example, an estimated 84% of people shopped at Wal-Mart in the past year. And recent news reported that Wal-Mart is looking into developing online grocery shopping. What a convenience!

Why do people shop online? Well, like me, it’s convenient. If you don't like to deal with the crowds of shoppers, especially around holidays, it's the ultimate shopping experience!
You can compare prices online much easier than in a store. And a lot of times you can get a better deal online.

It's estimated that the internet will continue to grow as more and more people develop online shops, and the rising cost of products and gas more people will use internet shopping to get the best deals and save money.
